My Winning Photo
For the past 5 Sundays, I was busy attending a photography workshop here in our province. I’d actually kept it secret even to my close friends but the words spread out like fire when my wife posted a status congratulating me for winning 5th place in our workshop contest for the Human Activity category. I’m actually proud of my achievement, if you can call it an achievement already, since I’m just an amateur photographer.
Here’s my winning photo.
The boy in the picture is my eldest son.
The Basic Photography workshop by Federation of of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) teaches the basic photography skills from how to operate a digital SLR camera . They also teaches their students with knowledge in composition and elements of design.
Next month, I’m planning to take the Advance Photography workshop which is designed for serious hobbyist and for those who want to go professional. I belong to the first category, that is I want to be a serious hobbyist. I don’t want to waste the money that my wife used in buying the expensive camera she gave to me 2 years ago. After the next workshop, I’m planning to take some specific extensive workshops like food photography, wedding photograph and my favorite – the travel photography.

congrats!
Thanks, Resee!
Hello Old Friend,
You were going to send me some photos of Santo Tomas and Los Banos last year but I guess you got very busy with your blog and photography. If you can point me to a Phillipine website that might have the photos I seek I would appreciate it. My father was a POW in the Phillipine Islands during WW II for nearly five years. Hi Nicholas,
Hey it’s been a long time! I was just thinking to send you an email yesterday. I actually visited your old blog but it’s not updated anymore.
It’s nice to know that your busy in producing videos.
Hi Eric,
Wanted some photos of Los Banos and Santo Tomas, where my Dad was a POW during WWI… Any sites I could find some?
Yes the old ‘marketing’ blog has been abandoned for a while…never could make any money in Affiliate Marketing anyhow..
Looking to set up a new website for Golf Pro Video. Have a java – php – html pro working on it now.. just need cheap hosting.. http://golfprovideo.blogspot.com

Check your email, Nicholas. I attached some pictures of Los Banos which I have taken recently.
The shot is impressive I would say. I have started a new travel photolog of my own when my wife bought a DSLR 3 months ago and right now I am still learning. I remember one time when I join an online photo contest, the result snowballed and became an inspiration to pursue photography.
Congrats! Really cool picture. Thought provoking and moody. You must be proud that your son is in the winning picture too! Looking forward to seeing more of your photography in the future.

merry christmas eric!
Merry Christmas Eric. Thank you for the Los Banos photos. I am using software to restore a noisy cassette tape recording of my Father speaking about his internment during WWII as a POW, and how very helpful the Phillipino people were to him and his fellow prisoners, at great personal risk to themselves. When you take a bike trip through Santo Tomas I would appreciate any photos of this location as well. Happy New Year!
Congrats it is a great shot!
Great shot Eric. What sort of lens do you use?
Thanks for the appreciation, Deniz.
I’m only using my one and only kit lens, 18-55mm. I’m planning to upgrade but it’s not my priority yet. Soon I hope
