Got a New 16Gb USB to Combat Static Electricity
Our company provided a 16Gb USB drive to all the employees.
The reason? To combat or lessen the static electricity which everybody in our company is transferring to one another.
I’m not joking. There is a very strong static electricity in our office. Whenever we get contact with anybody or just touching any metal in our
office such as door knob, the static electricity will flow and really put an annoying shock.
This also happens every time we borrow a USB to transfer our files. Since our local network is already clogged with various applications, we transfer, save and exchange files using a USB stick. We are a software development company and we are mandated to store the files and source codes of our projects in one central server. Unfortunately, we have limited numbers of USB.
We observed that the static electricity builds up whenever we walk across the beautiful rugs or carpet in our reception area.
We informed our office maintenance department to do something perhaps buy another cheap rugs or look for a replacement. Instead, they tried applying an anti-static chemical but it wears off easily. We talked to our President and complained this matter. He’s got a quite impressive idea, which we all happily agreed – that is to buy each every one of us a new USB and let the area rugs remain in the reception area.
It’s a win-win situation for all of us.
your boss is very understanding and supportive
You are right, DanM. He prefers to buy each every one of us a new USB instead of removing the carpet in our reception area.
uo nga. sa opis din namin grabe yung static sa mga tao. haynaku, palagi nga akong nakuryente sa mga kasama ko eh.
