Did You Get Your Facebook Username?
We were in the country side yesterday checking on a new first class residential community being developed. The sales lady told me that they’re having a price increase soon because they’re project is selling like hotcake.
I believed the sale’s pitch of the agent because the project is really good and I already saw some of their clients paying the reservation fee.
Too bad, I can’t get a piece of that real estate because I just invested my money in another project.
Thinking about the people who lined up yesterday to get a glimpse of this magnificent project, I was also wondering how many really were able to grabbed their names on Facebook on the 13th of June? I’m sure most of you were aware of this, am I right?
If you haven’t got your username yet, why not?
I was online 5 minutes before the gates were opened on Facebook last June 13 (12 noon here where I live). I opened 4 laptops in our kitchen table so I can get all the names for my family members. When the countdown reached zero, I typed in as fast as I can and…unfortunately, all our first names -my wife and my kids- were not available, duh! So I opted for some variations instead.
Speculations on that day that Facebook may have “reserved” some popular names.
On the same day, I called some of my friends whom I know have facebook profile but might not be aware of the “virtual land grab”. Later that night, 6 friends of ours came to our house to set their facebook username.
It was reported that 200,000 usernames were registered within 3 minutes!
Did you know that in the past you have to pay Facebook some large amount in order to get your own username (some says it’s $50,000+ per month) or be a celebrity?
If you are into network marketing, I encourage you to get your name now! It’ll be easier to tell people how to find you on the social network.
The project we visited yesterday.
Some users got generic domain names that are popular in search terms and and high price PPC. For example, Chris Jones registered facebook.com/makemoney and Milan Mirevic nabbed facebook.com/cheapdomains.
If someone else has already has your name, get creative! Remember that you can’t change your username -ever!.
I’m just wondering If someone can sell their username in the future, let’s say it’s a popular brand or a very high demand search term. What do you think? Is your username marketable?

I was planning to do that, but then I thought “why bother?”. If I choose a common name I’ll get lots of strangers viewing my profile by accident. If I choose something unusual people won’t remember it anyways.
A friend of mine tried to get facebook.com/index.php. It fulfilled all the criteria but obviously wasn’t available.
Pozycjonowanie, you can always put your Facebook profile into “private” to limit other people to view it.
As I mentioned in my post, if you are into network marketing and wants to use the power of SOCIAL NETWORKING of Facebook, then IT’S A MUST that you have a username that your client can easily remember.

Well, I didn’t know about this one. A lot of people know that social media sites are a big marketing potential, so its not surprising that a lot of them will invest on making highpaying usernames. Good post sir Makoy!

Truth be told I don’t really care about my facebook user name, I think my friends know who I am already
